Headshot 2.jpg

Elisabeth Hansen Oen is an Oslo-based costume technician. She studied fashion design in high school before earning a BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts. During her studies, she trained abroad at Shakespeare’s Globe and The School of Historical Dress in London.

Her work spans from theatrical productions in the U.S. to large-scale opera in Norway, including Otherworld, a musical that challenged traditional costume construction with unconventional materials, and her time at the Oslo National Opera and Ballet, where precision and craftsmanship were paramount. Whether working as a technician or a designer, she is driven by a deep commitment to storytelling through costume. She thrives on mastering a diverse range of skills, from garment construction to intricate embellishment and experimental crafting techniques. For her, the most rewarding part of the process is transforming abstract creative visions into tangible, compelling narratives on stage.
